Day 4…

Tuesday, April 23, 2024

Woke up around 5:30, packed up, and headed towards Lake Louise to catch the sunrise. It was about a 50-minute drive from the Airbnb. There was so much snow on the way up.

We walked back an icy, snow-covered trail to get to Lake Louise, which, like the rest of the lakes, was still covered in ice. The reflection of the sunrise on the other mountains was breathtaking , but it was so cold.

Then we checked out Fairmount Chateau Lake Louise, hung out inside for a bit, and warmed up and figured out where we wanted to go for coffee and food. We stopped at Legends for coffee, but since it was Starbucks, we passed on coffee and headed out. We drove the Icefields Parkway, which was insane. The mountains just didn’t stop. Of course, we had to stop and take many photos. We stopped at Bow Lake, which was so pretty. We ran across the lake, which was so cool! We hiked for a bit to see Parker Ridge and valley. All the pine trees got me. The icefields along the highway were absolutely insane. We saw like five mountain goats on the road. I touched one of their butts, but they didn't budge!

We hiked at Sunwapta Falls, which were insane and so pretty. We could see a green lake from there and it wasn’t frozen. We got to the town of Jasper around 1:30, stopped and got coffee at Sunhouse Cafe. It was so cute. We hung out there for a bit, walked around the town, found a thrift shop, and shopped for souvenirs. We couldn’t find an Airbnb, so we booked a room at the Forest Park Hotel. Their hot tub and pool were closed, but they allowed us to go to a neighboring one. We spent time in the hot tub and the pool. We had leftovers for dinner, then walked some trails beside the train tracks and saw a herd of elk. I sat outside by the fire for a while, enjoyed the mountains ranges that were all around us, did some laundry..

Jasper to Dawson Creek, 325 miles

Woke up around 9, had our breakfast, packed up and headed out for Dawson creek, drove through alot of boring flat land again, not to much see, I slept for awhile.

Got to the town around 2:15, took pictures by the sign of course and went to the visitor center, hung out there and checked out what there is to do, went and checked out the Airbnb, oh my goodness it is so cute! Got coffee at beans and barley, oh my goodness, so cute and so good.. then went to a bookstore called faking sanity and a thrift store! Got back to the house, i edited for awhile.

Was a more chill day which I didn't mind.
